St. Joan of Arc Coloring Page

$1.50

There is so much more to St. Joan of Arc’s life than what anyone could know from merely looking at paintings of a young girl in armor. Indeed, it can often be misleading when we generalize about the famous deeds of canonized saints as if their worldly notoriety is somehow the reason we honor these remarkable men and women today. In my art, I prefer to emphasize the saints’ lives of admirable piety and self-sacrifice, over their fame and earthly status. Better put, I look to depict saints seeking holiness in “the Little Way” of St. Therese- and, as such, I often illustrate quiet moments in which the saints carried out loving acts of service or prayer. In this depiction of St. Joan of Arc, she contemplates her next course of action amidst tremendous conflict and risk, but with remarkable serenity and steadfast faith that God holds her in His favor and unfailing love. Let us pray for that kind of trust!
